How to Be an AVID Angel
1. Choose an Angel Tag
Starting Monday, November 16, select a tag from the Holiday Toy Drive tree at school. Each tag has a unique student code and gift ideas.
2. Sign Out Your Tag
Before leaving, write your information in the AVID Holiday Toy Drive Log.
3. Purchase a Gift
Provide a new, unwrapped gift worth at least $20 for the child you selected.
4. Drop It Off
Bring your unwrapped gift to the Loma Vista Middle School office by December 11 at 3:00 PM. At drop-off, log the gift’s arrival, then write the Angel Tag code on a sticker and place it over the gift’s barcode.

Gift Guidelines
✅ What to Bring
- New, unwrapped gifts only
- Minimum gift value: $20
- Age-appropriate gifts based on the Angel Tag suggestions
- At drop-off, record the gift in the AVID Holiday Toy Drive Log and place a sticker with the Angel Tag code over the gift barcode
🚫 What Not to Buy
- Used or previously opened items
- Wrapped gifts
- Items representing violence
- Items containing inappropriate content
When in doubt, choose a safe, age-appropriate alternative or ask the school office.
Dropping Off Your Gift
Bring the new, unwrapped gift to the Loma Vista Middle School office.
First, check in your gift by recording its arrival in the AVID Holiday Toy Drive Log. Then write your Angel Tag code on a sticker and place the sticker over the barcode on the unwrapped gift.
Drop off by Friday, December 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

Meet the AVID Angels
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID helps students build skills in organization, focused note-taking, inquiry, collaboration, and readiness for future education.
Through this holiday community service project, Loma Vista Middle School's 6th Grade AVID students are practicing leadership, empathy, teamwork, planning, and service to their community. From organizing Angel Tags to encouraging donations, students are learning that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
